NITIN...i believe that the author of the article has (or had) sub-interfaces setup on the serial adapter(s). Like WIC slots the sub interfaces start a 0 and go up. So, effectively there is no difference...however, you will not see the 0/0/0:0 unless you have sub-interfaces setup. If you don't (or haven't) in the past it will only show up as 0/0/0 ...

hi,

i have an issue with bundled interfaces. When the interface is not bundled (E1) its working. but when i tried to join the interface to the multilink it shows up down.

here are the sample sh run from both routers (both interfaces are having the same config)

---------------------------------------Router 1--------
Current configuration : 219 bytes
!
interface Serial1/2
description XXXX E1 2M link to XXXX ***
dampening
bandwidth 2048
no ip address
encapsulation ppp
serial restart-delay 0
ppp multilink
ppp multilink group 2
end

-------------------------------------------Router 2---------

Current configuration : 239 bytes
!
interface Serial0/0/1
description XXXX Serial to XXXX ***
dampening
bandwidth 2048
no ip address
encapsulation ppp
serial restart-delay 0
ppp multilink
ppp multilink group 2
end

Thanks. is it related to hardware problem?
